METALLICA TO HEADLINE SONISPHERE FESTIVAL
Poland will get its own Sonisphere again when the Europe-touring rock festival comes to Bemowo’s Airport in Warsaw on Thursday 10th May. The headliner on the one-day festival is Metallica which will play their legendary “Metallica” a.k.a. The Black album in its entirety, among other songs.

Other confirmed acts: Metallica (Headliner), Black Label Society, Gojira and Polish bands: Acid Drinkers, Hunter, Luxtorpeda.

The Black album, released 1991, is Metallica’s fifth full-length and the album with which the band made its absolute international breakthrough. Mega hits like “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven”, “Nothing Else Matters”, “Wherever I May Roam” and “Sad But True” were inscribed to the brains of fans and the music videos played all over the world on MTV. In the US The Black album sold 16 times platinum and the album has sold more than 28 million copies worldwide. This summer also Polish Fans have an unique opportunity to hear the classic album in its entirety live at Sonisphere Festival.
In December Metallica celebrated its 30th anniversary with special shows in San Francisco. On each four shows they played a never-before released song from the “Death Magnetic” sessions. The band distributed the songs to MetClub but now “Beyond Magnetic” ep is also available in digital record shops and the cd-ep was released on 1st February.
Machine Head was formed in 1991. The group was founded by Robb Flynn and Adam Duce. They have few albums in discography and a DVD called “Elegies”. Their last album, „Unto the Locust”, was released in 2011. The current members of the band are Flynn (vocals, guitar), Duce (bass), guitarist Phil Demmel (guitar), and Dave McClain (drums).
Machine Head is known for their great live shows. Their music is honest and uncompromising.
Zakk Wylde has established himself as a guitar icon known and revered the world over. Writing and recording with Osbourne led to multi-platinum success, inspiring him to create the now legendary Black Label Society in 1998. The French Gojira is known for its extreme live shows in addition to their pro-active and environmentally conscious lyrics. Having been signed to Roadrunner Records just now the band is working on its fifth album and the release date is expected to be this spring.
ANTYRADIO Stage is occupied by the best known and the most popular Polish acts of last 20 years – Acid Drinkers, Hunter and Luxtorpeda. Acid Drinkers is an icon on Polish heavy music scene, Hunter is one of the bands that you need to see play live, not to mention Luxtorpeda – Litza’s brand new project. We will announce last special guest, very soon, a Polish band.
