STING „SYMPHONICITY” IN POZNAŃ
DURING THE GRAND OPENING OF NEW STADIUM

The official opening of the Polish first Euro 2012 arena - City Stadium in Poznan will take place on the 20 September 2010 and will be marked by a concert held by Sting accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Maestro Steven Mercurio (Pavarotti, Bocelli). It is the third time that the city of Poznań invites us to a concert „POZnan* dla Ziemi” - pro ecological action.

The stadium in Poznań will be the first of four sites in Poland used during Euro 2012 championships. The event in September will be the first big test for the object, which in one year and 9 months has undergone great changes. Sting’s concert in Poznań is a part of the world  „Symphonicity” tour which began on 2nd June in Canada.

During the opening of the City Stadium in Poznan, Sting will present his greatest hits in the new orchestral arrangements, prepared especially for this occasion by artists such as Jorge Calandrelli, David Hartley, Michel Legrand, Rob Mathes, Vince Mendoza, Steven Mercurio, Bill Ross, Robert Sadin and Nicola Tescari.
We might enjoy  such hits as "Roxanne" "Next To You," "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic," "Every Breath You Take," "Englishman in New York", "Fragile," "Russians, "" If I Ever Lose My Faith in You, "" Fields of Gold " Or " Desert Rose. During his tour 45-strong group on stage features a lot of Sting’s good friends like Dominic Miller (guitar), Rhani Kriya (drums), David Cossina (percussions), Jo Lawry (singer), and Ira Coleman (bass).

Sting’s concert in Poznan is part of the „Poznan* dla Ziemi” action which was inaugurated in 2008 with a concert held by Nelly Furtado. Last year’s superstar was Radiohead. Proceeds from this year's event (the symbolic 5 zlotys from each ticket) will be donated to pro ecological actions in the city.
