Justin Broadrick is an artist through and through, presenting his dark and oppressive musical visions in a uniquely original way—whether through guitar-driven filth or abrasive electronics. You'll experience the latter side of the Godflesh frontman on April 25th at Niebo club in Warsaw, where he will perform as JK Flesh.
Under the moniker JK Flesh, Justin Broadrick explores the darker realms of heavy electronic music. But before fully immersing himself in the world of bass and distortion, he made a name for himself as the guitarist and co-creator of Napalm Death’s debut album Scum, and later as the mastermind behind the groundbreaking industrial metal project Godflesh. Already in the late ‘80s, Broadrick showed an interest in hip-hop, dub, and drum’n’bass, which led to a collaboration with Kevin Martin (The Bug) under the name Techno Animal. It was during this period that the JK Flesh alias first appeared.
His official debut as JK Flesh, Posthuman, was released in 2012, merging his guitar-laden past with influences from dub, garage, and heavy electronics. Over time, Broadrick began to drift further from his metal roots, focusing fully on raw, minimalist, and industrial strains of techno. Today, JK Flesh stands for a highly hypnotic, gritty electronic experience—one you’ll be able to dive into on April 25th at Niebo in Warsaw.
