The pirate crew of Alestorm will return to Poland this summer for three shows: August 9th at Tama in Poznań, August 10th at Kosmos in Szczecin, and August 11th at FK Zgrzyt in Lublin. The Finnish group Metal De Facto will open all these evenings.
To trace the origins of Alestorm, we need to go back 20 years to eastern Scotland, where a group of friends from the small town of Perth decided to form an epic metal band focused entirely on pirate-themed songs. Performing under the name Battleheart, the band released several demos and quickly attracted attention - first from local audiences and soon after from Napalm Records, one of the leading labels in the genre. It was then that the group changed its name to Alestorm and signed a multi-album deal with the Austrian powerhouse.
Over the past two decades, Alestorm have become giants of the pirate metal world. Their career has been marked by critically acclaimed albums, tours alongside bands such as Turisas, Sabaton, DragonForce and Eluveitie, as well as appearances at some of the biggest metal festivals on the planet, including Wacken Open Air, Bloodstock, Graspop and Sweden Rock. Last year, the Scots released their eighth studio album, “The Thunderfist Chronicles”, and followed it up with two wild shows in Poland. This August, they’ll return for three more dates, and you can expect nothing less than a massive celebration and an unforgettable good time.
After lineup changes and the forced hiatus caused by the pandemic, Metal De Facto return with renewed energy and unity. Following their debut Imperium Romanum (2019) and the first chapter of the “Rising Sun” saga, the Helsinki-based group now stands stronger than ever, having truly defined their sound: powerful, dynamic, and passionately true to the spirit of classic power metal.
