The band UK was formed in the mid-1970s by John Wetton (vocals, bass) and Bill Bruford (drums) following the hiatus of King Crimson, a band with which both musicians had been associated. Wetton invited Eddie Jobson (keyboards, violin) - whom he had met while working with Roxy Music - to join the new group, while Bruford recruited Allan Holdsworth (guitar), who had previously made a guest appearance on Bruford's debut solo album. As a quartet, UK recorded only one album, simply titled *UK*; subsequently, following the departure of Bruford and Holdsworth and the addition of Terry Bozzio (drums), the band transformed into a trio and released a second album, *Danger Money*. A year later, in March 1980, UK disbanded due to differences of opinion regarding the musical direction of future recordings. In the interim, one additional album - a live recording titled *Night After Night* was released. After more than 20 years - between 1995 and 1998 - Jobson and Wetton resumed their collaboration, and the prospect of a new album titled *Legacy* emerged; however, the project was ultimately never finalized.
Ten years later, in October 2007, Jobson announced the formation of a new band, UKZ, featuring Aaron Lippert (vocals), Trey Gunn (guitar, bass, Stick), and Marco Minnemann (drums). In March 2009, UKZ released an EP titled *Radiation*.
Finally, in late 2009, at Eddie Jobson's initiative, the first concerts following a 30-year hiatus took place, with Jobson and Wetton appearing on stage together. And - in a truly sensational turn of events - these concerts were held in Poland! Over three nights in Kraków, Warsaw, and Bydgoszcz, the band - comprising Jobson, Wetton, Tony Levin, Marco Minnemann, and Greg Howe - captivated audiences with material from the UK and King Crimson repertoires, among others.
In 2012, Eddie Jobson once again spearheaded the band's reactivation and organized a tour under the banner "UK 2012 Night After Night." The European lineup featured Eddie Jobson (violin, keyboards), John Wetton (bass, vocals), Alex Machacek (guitar) - an outstanding guitarist often dubbed the "Austrian Allan Holdsworth" - and Gary Husband (drums), a legendary jazz drummer and pianist.
Once again, we were fortunate enough to host them in Poland, as they performed in Kraków at the very end of May. In late 2014, Eddie Jobson announced another tour for the band, noting that it would be their farewell run. The tour was set to cover several European cities - including a stop in London - with the story of UK finally concluding in Tokyo on April 30, 2015.
Naturally, Poland was included in the itinerary. The band performed two shows in February 2015 - in Wrocław and Warsaw - featuring a lineup of Eddie Jobson, John Wetton, Alex Machacek, and Virgil Donati (an outstanding drummer known for his work with acts such as Planet X and Allan Holdsworth).
It seemed like the definitive end of the UK story, especially given that John Wetton passed away on January 31, 2017, and Eddie Jobson entered a well-deserved retirement.
However, things turned out differently. The band - under the modified name "UK Revisited" and with a reformed lineup - performed at the famous Cruise To The Edge festival and toured Japan. Additionally, shows were planned for the United States, including an appearance at the ProgStock festival.
Yet, the most important news for us arrived at the very end of September 2026. The revived UK Revisited - featuring Eddie Jobson, Marc Bonilla, Alex Machacek, and Marco Minnemann - announced another European tour, including two concerts in Poland: January 18 in Kraków and January 19 in Warsaw!
