What does void sound like? Kontravoid will guide you through it with a danceable darkwave step. Cameron Findlay will bring his project to Poznań’s Pod Minogą on December 13th, joined by duo Spike Hellis.
Before focusing on his solo work, Cameron Findlay made his mark on the music world as the drummer of Crystal Castles, where he played for several months in 2007, as well as a founding member of synth-pop act Parallels, which he left in 2011. His next step was Kontravoid, the project he continues to develop to this day. In recent years, he has been particularly prolific, adding four new releases to his discography since 2019. The latest, “Sound of the Void”, released on October 2nd, further cements Findlay’s position as one of the most distinctive figures in dark yet highly catchy electronic music.
Kontravoid rarely disappoints, whether in the studio or on stage. Findlay performs in his signature white mask, and his live shows not only command attention but, above all, lead you through raw beats, rhythmic basslines and catchy melodies straight to the dancefloor. So where can you find the best darkwave dance party just before the end of the year? You already know the answer.
Warming up the crowd at Minoga will be Los Angeles duo Spike Hellis. Their blend of EBM and industrial will get you moving from the very first beats of the night. They are no strangers to the stage, having already toured with Choir Boy, Soft Kill, Kontravoid themselves and even Portrayal of Guilt. Their second album, “Successor”, was released in August.
