Poison Ruïn will bring their new anthems from the hills to Warsaw’s VooDoo club on July 12! The anarcho-deathrock band Eat My Teeth will perform as the opening act.
Deathrock, hardcore punk, post-punk, black metal, and dungeon synth all in one? On their new album “Hymns From The Hills,” released by Relapse Records, Poison Ruïn dispel any doubts about the formula running dry and, three years after the release of the highly acclaimed “Härvest,” return with even more hit-worthy material. The Philadelphia punks showcase elements characteristic of their work, but at the same time develop and transform them. You can hear a nod to Killing Joke, a wink at black metal, ambient elements, and synths—all of this, of course, accompanied by lyrics that blend cynicism with bravado. You could feel the energy radiating from Poison Ruïn’s live shows last year, and if you didn’t experience it then, you absolutely must make up for it now.
EAT MY TEETH is a Warsaw-based anarcho-deathrock band that has been haunting the gothic-
punk scene since 2022. Shrouded in black, beige, and other hues of decay, their
work speaks precisely of decay—both physical and moral. The band’s lyrics
revolve around themes of addiction, queer experience, religious oppression, and
a general sense of alienation. The group is characterized by intense stage performances, in
which music and visuals are equally emphasized.
