2027 marks two decades since the release of “Nocturnal”, The Black Dahlia Murder’s third album and a record widely considered their magnum opus. To celebrate the anniversary, the band will hit the road at the beginning of the year, stopping in Kraków on January 26. Fuming Mouth will join them on stage at Kwadrat.
The Black Dahlia Murder were one of the bands that brought a breath of fresh air to the global extreme metal scene at the beginning of the 21st century. They combined strong influences from the Gothenburg death metal scene, particularly bands such as At the Gates and In Flames, with their own American roots, drawing inspiration from the likes of Morbid Angel and Malevolent Creation.
Over the years, the Waterford, Michigan-based group have become one of the leading acts on the cult label Metal Blade, releasing all of their full-length albums through the label. The band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of “Nocturnal”, widely regarded as the best album in their discography, with a European tour kicking off at the beginning of the year, including a January 26 show at Kwadrat in Kraków.
On their latest album, “The Ringing Bell”, released via Triple-B, Fuming Mouth sound heavier, deeper and darker than ever before. Much of the credit undoubtedly goes to drummer Jay Weinberg, known for his nearly decade-long stint with Slipknot, who recently joined the Milford, Massachusetts-based outfit. The album was recorded at Kurt Ballou’s God City Studio, where the Converge guitarist squeezed every last drop out of the band’s blend of death metal, metalcore and hardcore. Fuming Mouth have already toured with Suffocation, August Burns Red, Terror, Devil Master and, fittingly, The Black Dahlia Murder, so they certainly have the credentials.
