Comeback Kid are coming to Poland at the beginning of the year with a new album and a stellar lineup of special guests. On January 26th, the Canadians will perform at Warsaw’s Proxima, joined by Haywire, Whispers and Speedway.
Last year, Comeback Kid celebrated the 20th anniversary of their most acclaimed album, “Wake the Dead”, and on November 6, their eighth full-length, “Chosen Hell”, will see the light of day. Their first release on SharpTone Records sees the Canadians delivering all their signature trademarks, while expanding their characteristic sound with influences from modern metal, fired-up punk and even more emotional melodies.
You may have already grown quite fond of Haywire, as the Boston crew tore up stages across Poland alongside Death Before Dishonor and Nothing. New England hardcore runs through their veins, seasoned with influences from street punk and Oi!. Fully aware of who they are, they hide nothing behind a veil of metaphors, instead hitting as directly and as hard as possible - exactly the way it should be.
When it comes to hardcore from Thailand, Whispers are one of the first names that come to mind. The band describe their dark and metallic take on the genre as “Bangkok evilcore”. Their latest release, “Yom-Ma-Lok”, came out two years ago via Flatspot Records.
Opening the evening will be Speedway, a Stockholm-based crew who released their debut album, “A Life’s Refrain”, in April 2025. Melodic hardcore punk with full-on rock’n’roll moments? That’s something only the Swedes can pull off.
