Two legends of European power metal, Sonata Arctica and Rage, are joining forces for a very special co-headline tour! On April 22nd, they'll take the stage at Kwadrat in Kraków, performing their greatest classics in brand-new symphonic arrangements accompanied by a full orchestra.
For nearly three decades, Sonata Arctica have remained one of the defining bands of the Finnish metal scene. Their debut album, “Ecliptica”, is still regarded as a landmark release in European power metal, while follow-up records such as “Silence”, “Winterheart's Guild”, and “Reckoning Night” cemented the band's status with their infectious melodies, lightning-fast guitar work, and signature keyboard-driven sound. Earlier this year, the band released the single Freedom Concept, offering the first glimpse of their upcoming album. The Kraków show will be a unique opportunity to witness Sonata Arctica on a full-scale orchestral tour for the very first time, bringing a new dimension to classics like “FullMoon”, “Tallulah”, and “Don't Say a Word”.
Rage, meanwhile, are true veterans of the German metal scene. Over four decades, they have evolved from speed metal pioneers into one of power metal's most respected names, increasingly embracing symphonic elements along the way. Led by Peavy Wagner, the band has released 27 studio albums, while “XIII” and “Lingua Mortis” have gone down in metal history as two of the earliest and most successful fusions of heavy metal and a symphony orchestra. In Kraków, Rage will perform alongside the Lingua Mortis Orchestra, celebrating the 30th anniversary of these landmark releases with a setlist highlighting their pioneering role in the evolution of symphonic metal.
